Personalized Oral Health Plans in Southern California
For client review: this page is new. The old site promoted this service on the home page and in the contact form but had no page for it.
A cleaning helps on the day. What happens in the weeks between visits is what actually decides whether gums improve.
Tooth Fairy Mobile Dental Hygiene builds a written oral health plan around what a patient and the people who support them can realistically manage at home, rather than a routine that looks good on paper and never gets followed.
What is a Personalized Oral Health Plan?
It is a short, practical plan created after a comprehensive oral health assessment. It sets out what to do daily, what to watch for, and how often visits should happen, written in plain language for the patient and for whoever helps them.
The plan takes account of the things that usually get left out: limited hand strength or reach, medications that dry the mouth, a swallowing or aspiration risk, dentures or partials, cognitive changes that make a long routine impossible, and who is actually holding the toothbrush.
What the Plan Covers
| Area | What is decided | Why it matters |
| Daily routine | Which brush, which paste or gel, what order, and how long, adjusted to what the patient can tolerate. | A routine someone can complete beats an ideal one they abandon. |
| Tools | Specific recommendations such as an adapted-grip or powered brush, interdental brushes, or a floss holder. | The right tool often matters more than the technique. |
| Dry mouth | Practical steps where medications reduce saliva, which is one of the most common causes of sudden decay in older adults. | Dry mouth is treatable and is frequently missed. |
| Caregiver guidance | How to assist without a struggle, including positioning and how to approach care for someone who resists it. | Most home routines succeed or fail on the caregiver confidence. |
| Visit interval | How often hygiene visits should happen, based on gum condition rather than a default six months. | Some patients need three-month intervals; others genuinely do not. |
Who We Serve
Personalized plans are most useful for elderly adults, homebound patients, people living with dementia or Parkinson disease, patients recovering from a stroke, and anyone whose daily care depends partly or entirely on someone else.
Care That Comes to You
The plan is built during a visit at the patient home or care facility, discussed with whoever is present, and left in writing. It is reviewed and adjusted at each following visit as circumstances change.
Where the assessment shows something outside the RDHAP scope of practice, the patient is referred to a licensed dentist for diagnosis and treatment.
